Welcome

I t is our honour to welcome you and your team to the U13 Tier 3 BC Hockey Championships. Congratulations! It is a considerable achievement to qualify for the BC Hockey Championships and it is our goal to make the experience a life-long memory for all participants.

With teams representing all corners of British Columbia, this tournament is a true representation of our game. Hockey unifies our country more than any other sport and it is with this perspective that we approach our celebration of the game.

Thank you to BC Hockey and the Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association for the opportunity to host this tournament. We hope to represent the PCAHA at its best. We are a small association and we depend tremendously on volunteers. I cannot emphasize enough how hard our volunteers have worked to make this tournament possible – especially our U13 A1 parents, led by our tournament directors, Margaret MacCallum and Lisa Leeson. Thank you!

Thank you to our sponsors. They are major contributors to the viability and success of this tournament.

Finally, thank you, the players. You are the reason we are here. You fill us with pride, anticipation and excitement and we look forward to seeing you play some great hockey. Play fair, play your best, and enjoy the tournament!

With kind regards,

Tom Oberti, WVMHA President

Host Association

West Vancouver Minor Hockey Association was born as a community based hockey program in 1967 as a direct result of a centennial project in celebration of Canada’s 100th birthday which saw the construction of West Van’s community ice arena.

We are proud to welcome teams from across the Province and the Yukon to our home arena.  Our goal is to make this championship a memorable experience for all our guests – players, team officials, parents, and officials.

West Vancouver, “The Waterfront Community,” is nestled on the lush south-facing slopes of the Coast Mountains on the North Shore of Burrard Inlet. West Vancouver spans 89 square kilometers and is bordered by Howe Sound to the west, the Capilano River to the east, the mountains to the north.  Several neighbourhood business areas throughout the community serve the needs of area residents and our guests for this year’s BC Hockey Championship. The small town atmosphere is only minutes from downtown Vancouver and Stanley Park. We’re proud of our beautiful community.  West Vancouver includes Park Royal, Metro Vancouver’s premiere shopping experience, with over 300 shops, restaurants and services with an unmatched combination of indoor and open-air shopping in an upscale, yet relaxed atmosphere.
