“A” or “Rep” Hockey
The opportunity to try out for “A” or “Rep” hockey begins in U11 (age 9). Rep hockey is a high-performance stream for skilled and dedicated hockey players.
Rep hockey requires a high level of commitment and athleticism. Players must opt to try out for rep hockey teams and you must select “rep tryout” during the registration process. Additional fees apply. Rep tryouts for most divisions begin in the last week of August.
Rep teams are coached by professional coaches and additional fees apply. These are called “carding fees” and are collected by the Association to cover professional coaching, additional ice, dryland training, practice jerseys and other rep-specific costs. Carding fees are typically in the $1,000 to $1,400 range per player. In addition, team managers will collect fees for tournament costs, team parties, and other team-specific events. These may be in the $300-$500 range per player.
Please familiarize yourself with the Rep Hockey Manual available on this website should your child be interested in trying out for a rep hockey team.
